Necessary Exposure: Sonic Titan

Sonic Titan is a hard rock band, founded in Marlborough, Massachusetts just a couple years ago.  I know of them through my good friendship with their drummer, Tom.  These guys are all really cool and down-to-earth dudes.  Their music is also really good.  The general public needs to experience Sonic Titan right now, and that is where I come in.

I have helped promote the three-piece, heavily Sabbath-influenced rock outfit via school projects, my metal radio show, and now this article.  I would not promote them this much if I did not think they were worth it.  I have seen them live at bars a few times and they put on a hell of a show.  Sonic Titan usually will jam for a good hour and a half to two hours, or whenever the venue/bar tells them to stop.

The band often plays a few cover tunes in their live sets, cluttered among a good amount of killer original songs.  Covers I have seen Sonic Titan perform include a Led Zeppelin medley, Black Sabbath’s “Snowblind,” and Kiss’ “Love Gun.”  As for original material, Sonic Titan currently has two CDs out, their debut album, Sonic Titan, and their newly-released sophomore effort, Even Higher.  I personally loved their self-titled debut and thought it was amazing, until I heard Even Higher.  The new album is heavier, catchier, and even more Sabbath-influenced.  Both CDs can be downloaded on the band’s Bandcamp, for the price of your choosing.

According to Tom, the boys in Sonic Titan are currently working on more new material and hope to get signed to a record label and potentially make money off their next album.  Check these guys out.  They deserve the exposure and you deserve to have your ear drums mesmerized by their titillating groove.
